Plaster Page 2The most common methods for the production of ornamental plaster are running with a knife or casting in a mold. Moldings made with a knife are either run in place or run on a table and then applied. Below is a photo of plaster knife used to run a crown molding. This knife was designed to run moldings on a table, note the guide strip at the left of the knife. This runs along the edge of the table. Also below is a photo of the mold use to cast the plaster sphinx on Plaster Page 1. Note that the mold consists of 2 parts the box or mother and the urethane mold. To see more more click here.
